In mumbai how do I get to the train from the airport?

i will go to mumbai, india from the USA and need to take a train to Hazira I believe (rouhgly 3 hours away). How would I get to this train from the airport? will all of this be ok for me as far as safety, is the area ok? Thanks for any input and assistance.

Hazira is in Gujarat. Its in neighboring state. u have to check on Internet if tickets are available on particular date or not. otherwise u have to stay in hotel in Mumbai until u get train tickets. u can catch train from Mambai central station. to travel from airport to Mambai central u need to hire taxi.

Mumbai is over crowded, and u will face traffic jam problem in the morning and evening time. Mumbai is safe no need to worry. u just have to take basic safety precaution.

I presume your train to Hazira is starting from Mumbai Central.  You can hire a taxi from airport to Mumbai Central.  The travekl will be quite safe.

Are you indian? The first thing i'd like to mention is that the area is quite safe and you're not going to get killed or anything. If you travel by train in India use porters. By the way, Mumbai is the world's most populous metropolis.

From Mumbai Airport to Mumbai Central Railway station is about 20 kilometers and by taxi you can reach in an hour. Don't engage the taxi directly! There is a call taxi center, where you can pay the fare in advance and can engage the taxi in the presence of police. Charges must not exceed Rupees 300 to Rupees 400! (About 10 US$).

You have to click the train number and click view schedule to see the time table of the train! In fact you can even check the Air-conditioned Chair-Car availability or Air-conditioned Two Tier or Three tier Compartment seat availability and can book the ticket also through internet against payment through your VISA-MASTER credit card and the printed ticket from the net is sufficient for you to travel in the train!

You have to travel from the Mumbai Central Station (Station code: BCT) to the station Surat (Station code: ST). From Surat station it would be one hour drive to reach Hazira, a great industrial hub, touching the ocean front! Cabs are available for hire in the Surat station itself and for a round trip to Hazira and back for a time of 6 to 8 hours you can pay Rs 800 (US$ 20) only! If you want to stay in a decent hotel, rooms are available near the Station itself for tariff ranging from US$ 25 to 100 for a day!

You can contact the Indian party whom you have to meet, for the airport pick up in Mumbai and to accompany you till Hazira and also on your return journey back to Mumbai Airport! Definitely they would cooperate and do the needful!
