In my fantasy football league i traded Rudi Johnson and Clinton Portis for Randy Moss. Was this smart?

I already had Brandon Jacobs, Willis Mcgahee, Justin Vargas, and Ladell Betts so i deemed my two running backs traded disposable

  1. I think it is a risky move but it could pay off.  With that extra roster spot, go and pick up either a Giants backup RB or Ray Rice.  That way, you are covered should one of them go down, benched or hurt.

However, depending on your remaining roster, I could see that move helping out alot.

    Good Luck.

  2. Well, that's a steep price to pay for a wideout, even a top one.

    Still, it could work out.

Your major risk is in Jacobs. He can't stay healthy.  Fargas is in a crowded backfield with McFadden, and Michael Bush.

McGahee has a rookie QB in either Flacco or Smith.

Laddell Betts share carries with Portis, so now you get to cheer for Portis to break down again.

Basically you have no top tier RBs, and each that you have left is questionable.

Moss put up more TDs than the injured Portis and Johnson did last year combined.  You'll have to hope for more of the same.

  3. smart.

  4. It could turn out okay. But Portis and Johnson are two proven backs. (not that Moss isn't a proven reciever). I would have offered one or the another along with another reciever rather than them two together if it was possible.

  5. No not smart. Moss will score big points, not as many as 2 starting running backs. Look at your draft, when was the first reciever taken, and how many running back were gone? There is a reason for that. Jacobs/Betts/Vargas will all share time and not get ALL the carries or TD's. Now you dont have one starting RB who wont share carries.
