  1. well if its a little bit its ok. Your chin strap should secure it so that it only moves a little. My football helmet was a little shaky too but it was good and didnt affect my negatively

  2. Yes, it could cause serious injury to you.  That is why we use air to pump the helmet up until if fits nice and snug.

  3. Yes, you should make sure that your helmet is always tight and secure. If not, your helmet might fly off if you get tackled.

  4. The impact of a hard hit could give you shaken brain syndrome. It is very dangerous. Tell your coach or equipment manager that there is too much play in your helmet's fit. They will either give you thicker pads (the ones that button in over your ears), or they will give you a smaller helmet.

  5. no, if its its moving side-to-side it is good, along as it not moving up and down that's dangerous

  6. It's dangerous. Not only for your head and spinal chord, but you will loose all visibility after the 1st hit. One eye will be fully inside the helmet, looking at the padding while the 2nd eye will be partially looking out the wrong side of your helmet.

  7. Yes, its bad.  Unless you're an NFL player.  I was in charge of helping my youth program with helmet fittings.  An ex semi-pro player was a dad helping as well.  He said to NEVER watch the NFL players to determine how a helmet is to fit as their's are WAY TOO LOOSE!

At the youth, JV and Varsity levels, your helmet should almost be uncomfortably tight.  Then you know it fits.  If your head can bounce around at all in your helmet, then you run the risk of injury to your brain when you take a hit.

  8. Let the equipment Manager make sure everything is setup correctly!
