For my research project, I keep a lab journal keeping track of the procedures that I followed. Should I repeat the procedures that i followed for Starup and Closing procedures every time I do an experiment, or should I just list them all in the beginning, to avoid repetitions?

  1. If they're standard and you always do them the same way, there's not much sense documenting it each time.

You should notate only the exceptions.

  2. Unless you want to waste your time, there is no point in repeating the same thing in your journal. Reference the description if you have to; don't repeat it.
