In my passport my name mentioned as Venkat Rao but original name is Venkata Rao. Is there any problem?

All my education certificates are having the name as Venkata Rao. Is there any problem while applying a visitor's visa? Immediate reply will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

better change because it may cause problem if you apply for visa for issuing which the rules are tightened.

You should be OK.

I think passport has to match birth cert, but as long as everything matches up with your pic and other forms of ID, I can't see you coming up against a problem.

Dear, you should send back your passport for correction otherwise you can face problem at the entry or departure point if noticed by an immigration officer or for applying for a visa or a job or for opening an account with a bank, The spellings of your name should match the spellings on your birth certificate, and educational certificates, so why repent later on, do the needful now and be in peace, a small mistake can create trouble later on if noticed

Right now you should not have any trouble to go abroad. But when its time to renew or in case you lose it and need to re apply for a new one, you will be in trouble as your documents have a diffrent spelling.

You know how our babus are. So unless you want to empty your pockets and make hundreads of rounds to the passport office later. Better to get it corrected at the earliest.
