in greek mythology, Posiden created the horse.  But before him when the earth gave promethious and his cousin i think, the chance to create the animals.

Michelle is right, he also made many mistakes in life, if you don't mean just mistakes while making the horse. He often claimed to have created things that he did not.

It is said by some that Poseidon was attempting to woo Demeter. Demeter tasked him with creating the most beautiful animal ever seen. Thus he tried through much trial and error to create the horse. When he was finally finished he had lost all interest in Demeter, though the world was made richer by his mistakes (zebras, seahorses, giraffes, etc.)
