First, several people believed that TObi was Obito, but hes actually Uchiha Madara. HEs like old or smething. IT was reveled somewhere near the 397-400 chapter

he is madara. it shows tobi in the manga when he is talking to pein and konana. he takes off his mask and turns out to be madara uchiha. it was pritty surprising. but obito died when a bolder fell on him durring the war with the rock county. so it couldnt be him. but its a common mistake b/c of the hole in tobi's mask where his eye wold be (kakashi took obitos eye when he died). so people think that because he "only has one hole", he has only one eye. so people automatically think its obito. but its not. check out the manga if you want proof. hope this helps =]
