In nascar can a driver be more than one lap down and still receive lucky dog pass?

if a driver is first car lapped but is more than one lap down does he still receive lucky dog

  2. Yes, the lucky dog goes to the first car not on the lead lap - doesn't matter how many laps down they are.

  3. i'm pretty sure both jimmie johnson and robby gordon have been able to use the lucky dog that way as well.

  4. As long as everyone else in front of him are on the lead lap, yes.

  5. Actually I believe Kyle Busch came back from 5 laps down here at a race last year.  

    Someone correct me if Im wrong on the track but I distinctly remember it happening.  Could have been Bristol.  He saved my butt in fantasy thats why I remember.

  6. As long as no one is one lap down, they can get the Lucky Dog.  I believe it was at a road course in 06 that Kyle Busch got like 5 or 6 laps back via the Lucky Dog because no one was only 1 lap down.

    EDIT:  I looked it up.  Kyle Busch got 5 LDs at Watkins Glen in August of 06 to come back and finish 9th.
