  1. My favorite is the Hotel St. Andre des Arts. Have stayed there dozens of times in the last 30 years or so. The location is excellant and while the building is old the ensuite bathrooms are quite modern.

  2. Hotel Maxim Quartier Latin 2 stars - from 70 eur (single room) and 85 Eur double room.

This charming 2-star hotel with 36 rooms is perfect for people looking for a peaceful stay. It boasts a privileged location on the left bank, in the heart of the Latin Quarter. It is a few minutes away from the rue Monge, the famous rue Mouffetard and its daily market, the gallo-roman arenas and Notre-Dame.

    or

    Hotel de la Sorbonne - 2 stars   - 83  eur (double/single)

Opposite to the Sorbonne, one minute from the Luxembourg Gardens and the Pantheon, this lovely hotel (renovated in 2002) will envelop you in its warmth and colour. The shape and decoration of each room is different, and the cosy salon is a perfect antidote to the bustling Latin Quarter. This two-star hotel will surprise you by its originality and friendliness. Direct trains from either of Paris' airports will get you there in just 30 minutes.

Frederic and his team will be greeting you at the hotel, and look forward to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

It's a small pension-type hotel next to Luxembourg Gardens and about 10 minutes walk from Notre Dame. I stayed there last summer and loved it. Hardwood floors, sturdy, antique-looking furniture, and balcony overlooking the entrance to the Gardens. There was a free breakfast in the mornings and a private shower in the room (toilet down the hall). The owner speaks very good English, and let us stay one night for free (on an extra mattress in the laundry room) because we showed up at 2am the night before we were supposed to get there. I think I paid 53 euros for a double room. I would highly recommend this hotel.
