I am a sophomore in a public high school. Does anyone have any advice for me regarding friends, boyfriends, school in general? I just want advice from your past experiences. Thanks in advance!

  1. Well no go to the dating and relationship section. This is wrong section only education works here.

  2. Well, I can't give much advice about boyfriends. I had one boyfriend for about two years (broke up recently :'[ ), and he was completely respectful. From looking at other girls in high school, I just suggest you to be very firm with what you stand for. Don't let a guy talk you into s*x. He is not being respectful towards your decisions. The right guy will be someone you've been with for a while, who loves you, and if you tell him no, he'll say no problem.

My friends are so important to me. I make sure to treat them the best I can, and to always make sure I include them in everything. Don't gossip about them. If you have an issue, take it straight to the person. And don't be like, angry. Just be very calm about it. You'll be respected so much for that. Help them any way you can. As for making time with friends with a busy high school schedule, designate a time (like 8-8:30 or something) to text or call a friend. Show them that you care! For weekends, I think it'd be a good idea to have a get-together with friends every other Saturday, whether it's to study for a test or to just to hang out at the mall.

Oh, here's another tip: include everyone! What I mean is, if there's a group assignment, make sure everyone is discussing or helping out. If you're at lunch and you see someone alone, invite them to your table! Don't let someone feel left out. It's a horrible feeling. In my high school, people rarely invite others into their social circle, and they don't really care about people that are being left out. Don't be someone like that.

For school in general, I just suggest that you ALWAYS do your homework! I didn't realize how much doing my homework affected my grade until last year. It was 10% of my grade, but it helps you for your tests and quizzes because it's extra practice. Make a place that is well-lit, free of distractions, and is comfortable. Before doing your homework, you should check to make sure you have everything (because if you don't, you can run up to the school to grab your textbook before it's too late!) to complete the assignments. Every hour or two hours, take a 10-15 minute break to watch a little TV.

Here's a good website for some studying strategies-

  3. I sound like my mom but...just be friendly and people will respond to that, and (most importantly) be yourself!!!  Looking back, I can't for the life of me remember how I met my high school friends.  Chat up the people next to you in classes, and you'll at least have someone to hang out with in class.

  4. Heh, I will be a sophomore this year too, I wish I knew how to deal with this stuff. But we're not alone buddy.

And worst of all I have to deal by moving into another city... the answers they gave me were really supportive, yay! :)
