In need of some serious recording help.. should be simple if you know about recording?

i have a MXL2006 Cardioid Condenser Microphone and i want to connect it to my PC.. in the manuel it pretty much tells me i need a microphone preamplifier when everyone else tells me to get an audio interface.. i need somethin to connect my mic to my pc that supplies 48 v of phantom power.. can u give me specific names of the brands of whatever i need.. now i want to spend somewhere around 100-150 because im not rich lol.. but if i need to i will spend more.. PLEASE HELPP

  1. The M-Audio MobilePre USB Portable Audio Interface would be a good choice. 2 preamp channels with 3 kinds of inputs, phantom power, line outputs, USB interface, and powered by the computer's USB port:

    Another way to go would be to get an inline phantom power box for $20, and then you'll be able to choose a less expensive preamp or interface that doesn't do phantom power.
