In official volleyball rules, when a ball hits the line, is that considered "in"?

  1. I have been playing club volleyball for 12 years, and coaching now for 3 years. The answer is yes, if the ball touches the line it is "In Bounds".

  3. at vollyball.com they have a lot of diffrent sets of rules that u can check out and what i know of is that if it hits the lines it is in

  4. from 6 years of experience, yes, when it hits the line on the two sides, and the base line of your side, it's in, same for the other side...

  5. The line is considered inbounds.

    I don't have a website to cite this, but I play twice a week with some serious volleyball players.  Me, I'm just a hack player who's out for the fun and some exercise at lunch time.

  6. Usually when the ball is on the line it counts as in =). Sometimes if you have a really mean coach that the ref may feel threatend by she will call an unfair judgment(This happened to my team and I think we may have won though but I'm not sure)

  7. Yes, if the ball touches the line it's considered in.  I've been around volleyball for 15 years and am on the board of directors of a vb club.

    The 2 inches boundary line is considered "IN".

    If the ball lands outside of the outer edge of the line, it is OUT.

    For the 3 Meter Line - Attack Line, if the back row player touches the line when s/he attack the ball which is completely above the plane of the net, that is considered a back row attack violation.

    In other word, the attack line is part of the front zone.
