  1. I know the UK architect who worked on the first Canary Wharf Tower - thoretically it takes 40 seconds to get from the lobby to the top floor of No 1 Canada Square.

(Not everyone works on the top floor so it will be less for those on the lower floors). There are so many safety features that it really is one of the safest ways to travel. Also the size of the lifts are far bigger than normal buildings so you don't risk feeling claustrophobic. Hope this provides some reassurance.

  2. just make sure have a Mobile on u and there most probably will be a emearcy button there and about 1 min

  3. I dunno 20 seconds?

  4. One Canada Square (also known as the Canary Wharf Tower[16]) is a skyscraper in Canary Wharf, London. It is currently the tallest building in the United Kingdom at 244 metres (800 ft)[5] above sea level, or 235.1 metres (771 ft)[6] above ground level (see height section for other quoted heights). It is currently the sixth tallest building in the European Union.

The ground floor, foyer area and basement levels of One Canada Square are open to the general public, having an underground shopping area and a transport interchange from Canary Wharf tube and Docklands Light Railway stations. Access from the basement also links to Canada Square shopping mall[23].

The floors above the lobby are not opened to the public as they contain offices.

  5. about  500 feet
