  1. not sure I'm trying to find that out too

  2. Go to apa.org and read...lots of info.  There are many different types of psychologist.  Get your bachelors, major in psychology (4 years), take the GRE, graduate record exam, apply to grad school (make sure it is accredited...list is on apa.org website).  Clinical psychology programs will have you apply directly for the Ph.D. (you will be awarded a master's degree along the way).  You do a thesis, oral exams.  If you go on for a Ph.D. (doctorate) you do prelims (exams that go on for many days); and a dissertation (original research like the thesis for the master's).  You do a defense.  For a clinical degree you also do a one year internship.  After you are awarded your degree you sit for a licensing exam (given by the state).  Take science courses, statistics, research methodology.  Be computer literate in analysis programs.  Take any minor that helps fulfill requirements for graduate school.  apa.org has alot of info, and its own search engine.  It also has salary info.  Good luck to you!  (psychology professor/retired IBM exec mgr/confidential labs)
