  1. Private, Commercial, Instrument, Multiengine, build flight time, then hire on with an air carrier.


  2. To be competitive, you need a 4 year degree from a university.  It does not matter on what discipline that you study as long as you receive a Bachelors degree.  As airlines fold and the pilot retirement age has increased slots for pilots become much more competitive.  As previously stated, work on your private, commercial, instrument rating but if you want to fly for a major carrier, you will need a Bachelors.  Good luck.

  3. You may not like this answer but I have to tell youi, It will take a while. You need to get your Private, Instrument rating, Single Enging Commercial, and then Multi engine rating. It will take a very long time even if you are flying once a week. It is however a wonderful enterprise.

  4. Amass a great deal of money??
