  1. have hs diploma or ged

  2. No you don't. Every state has different laws for homeschooling, as someone mentioned.

The best thing that personally has come out of homeschooling has been my chance to go back and revisit everything that I learned in high school, and college. I have attended several conferences, but most of those are disability based rather than homeschooling related.

  3. ya i am taking class

do the home works day to day

  4. No, you do not have to although some homeschool parents do.

Most homeschool parents do, however, continue to learn-we recognize that education is a life long experience, not something that happens in a certain building during specific hours from the ages of 5 and 17.  We also research various teaching methods and resources, but formal classes such as those that public school teachers take are not necessary (and, to answer your specific question, not required).

  5. There are different rules in different states AND in different countries. When you think about it, parents teach their children : to walk, speak their mother tongue, dress themselves, bathe, cross the street safely, follow rules and laws, clean, cook, be polite, respect their elders etc, throwing in a little math, history and spelling isn't  any harder. What I don't know I can learn from experts around me or from books.

  6. Each state has its own laws regarding homeschooling.  Check the Home School Legal Defense Association website (first link below - click on your state, then click on "Laws" on the top right corner of the page that appears).

There is a wealth of information on the HSLDA site.  You should also click on "Organizations" on the left side of the first link below.  I highly recommend that you get involved in a local support group.

You also might be interested in some of the research on homeschooling.  The parent's education level has very little impact on the child's academic success.  Check page 2 in the second link below.

Good luck.  The decision to homeschooling is a big one.  Your success will depend mainly on your love for your children and your dedication to educating them.

  7. Not if you already meet the qualifications required by your state. In most places, high school is enough; in some you don't even need that. In others, where they require a teaching degree or a college degree, there are other options for homeschooling where you don't need that.

  8. Our state requires a high school diploma or GED.

Many parents have the theory to stay 2 weeks ahead of their children.   I  am not that energetic so I just learn along with my son.  That works for us.

  9. no my mom home school 6 of us and she never took any class 4 it but she went to a few conferences
