Can the right cell phone (model??) and plan be able to receive email without having to be in a "hot spot" or whatever they call that range that receives wireless internet. All I want is the most basic cell phone and cell phone plan that can receive emails. Would I have to pay extra for the ability to receive/send email and if so, does that take up minutes? What do I ask for from the cell phone carrier. I have already been told I would need a blackberry type phone. Can anyone fill me in on the rest?

  1. Yes.  Call your carrier.  They can let you know which is the best phone and plan for this.

  2. no if you phone has internet assess

  3. I am interested in the new Iphone, and, according to T-Mobile: You can receive all internet signals (including email) from the same satellites you receive your cell signal from. Apparently, the router you use at home has nothing to do with your internet signal on your cell phone.

  4. its in the manual.thats how i did it.thanx

  5. All you need to receive email using a cell phone is a cell phone plan and an email address. Your cell phone provider, will, however, charge a fee for emails just as they charge for calls. You don't need to be in a hot spot or anything like that, that's only for computers that connect using an ISP (internet service provider). You can have email access pretty much anywhere.
