  1. For running slow there are many causes:

    Manage your startup:

Open your Start menu  ->  Click Run ->  In the command screen type "msconfig.exe" ->  In the "system configuration utility", click either "service" or "startup" tab ->  Uncheck all programs that your are no longer using.

    De-Fragmenting

  2. did they run slow before or suddenly start running slow?

if suddenly then check for spam, maybe all of your comuper in the company has been infected with spam through your network, or maybe viruses.

try to clean your computer from viruses, spam and registry errors, there is a free scan in the net for each one of them.

  3. Uhm, you might want to give more details.

    What systems are you using?

What is running slow - the machines, connections, programs?

What kind of infrastructure do you have?

What kind of hardware are you using....

    all these can contribute.

In general - check your network for any collisions - these cause network slowness. Best is if you have your network cable infrastructure tested and certified by a professional - so you know that that isn`t causing you any problems.

Then - step by step check servers, switches, routers etc - if they are configured correctly and working as they should

If that is done - then check workstations and so on, for any thing that is installed that shouldn`t be.

Make sure you have webfiltering in place to block resource hoggers like youtube etc.

But - all in all - more details are required to give anything but a general list of tips :)

  4. Upgrade switches, network cards, and cables to gigabit ethernet. Add more servers to share the load. Ban youtube at work.
