In photoshop, how do i make a photo black and white exept for one color showing?

...so that it looks like this::

I MEAN WITHOUT HAVING TO USE THE SELECTION TOOLS AND COLOR IN THE AREA YOURSELF.

i already know how to do that but its not accurate and takes a long time and is there a way to do it using one of the filters NOT on a different layer and applied to some parts of the picture so you have to brush it in.

theres gotta be a way, isnt there? there are like a million filters... i dont know photoshop very well i just got it please someone answer id appreciate help.

o and i already tried googling it but i cant find a way. they all say you have to brush it in youself on a different layer... is this true??

  1. I would create a cut-out of the area you want the stay in color and put the aside.  Then change everything to gray-scale and replace the cut-out in its original spot.
