In places like New England the old famous FISH & CHIPS - was this served with potato wedges or potato chips?

Ever where that I've ordered this dish they were served with french fries not chips - is this the original way or was it potato chips as well because of it's name?

  1. Chips in England are what Americans call French fries. They are called chips because they are, in reality, chips of the potato. It is an English dish, and so it is served in an English style. But a lot of times the batter is not as good as the real thing in England.

    Fish and chips are never served with potato chips, which in England are called crisps.
