I don't know why, but I thought Ellie was a camp male elephant.

(Thinking about it, I really can't expalin it, especially as the name is female and he/she is pink, but for me it was always clear he was a boy. Strange me...)

Edit: Just checked and on wikipedia ellie is referred to as 'she'
