In pokemon cards, does "promo" mean fake?

on the card in a corner it will say "promo", and i was wondering if a card that says "promo" if it is a "fake" card, or if it's still real.

It means rare. In tournament you are not allowed to use them but sell very high! You can use them any other time, just not compation.

Im pretty sure it means its rare or a exclusive type of that card

promo does not mean fake it means its valuble and rare

it mean like its really rare and exclusive only a select number will be made and it real if you put it up to the light and you cant see the back of the card cuz of the light
