In pokemon diamond\pearl can u tell me some things about erries and there soil?

Question

1)in why does the soil become grey and brown,and what does it mean when its that color?

2)does it matter how much i water my berries? i mean if i water them lots of times in the same time(no stoping)

3)does enyone know any coul secreta or other things about berries in pokemon diamond\pearl?

1) The soil changes color depending on its water condition. If it's gray or light brown, water it with your Sprayduck (obtain it from the Flower Shop in Floaroma Town). If it's brown or dark brown, it's healthy soil.

2) Just as long as the soil color is brown or dark brown, you don't need to puppy-guard it.

3) Just when they produce berries, take them IMMEDIATELY. They give you the highest amount of berries- 5.

    Buy some Mulch from the woman in the house west of Hearthome City to improve the growth of your berries.

Growth Mulch speeds up the growth of Berries. However, it also dries the soil faster. Damp Mulch slows the growth of Berries and causes the soil to dry slower. Stable Mulch extends the time ripened Berries remain on their plants before falling. Gooey Mulch ups the number of times new plants grow where mature plants withered.  

The Growth Mulch lowers the amount of time for Berry tree maturation to 75% of the normal time, while the Damp Mulch raises it to 125% of the time. For instance, if a Bluk Berry is planted in loamy soil with Damp Mulch, it will bear fruit in 10 hours instead of 8, while if a Sitrus Berry is planted in loamy soil with Growth Mulch, it will also bear fruit after 24 hours, though instead of 32. Using these two mulches, it is therefore possible to cause some Berries with different growth times to grow in the same amount of time.

The soil becomes gray or brown according to how much it needs water.If it is a very light color then it needs watering.It doesnt really matter how much you water your berries but the type of Pokemon Mulch you use may affect how many berries sprout and how long it takes.Rare berries are the best to use in Poffins because the higher the quality of it.
