In pokemon diamond how do i know if my riolu is happy enough to evolve?

when i go to the pokemon fanclub in heathrome city the lady says that my riolu is quite friendly to me it must be happy being with me.

is it ready to evolve?

yes but just in case look on your poketech for your happiness checker. It has your party pokemon on it and they are all drifting around.  Now touch and hold your stylus on your riolu. If it has two big hearts then it's ready to evolve. If you don't have that app then massage it in veilstone city and the resort area every day and level it up while it is holding a soothe bell (if you have one) also make sure you keep it at the front of your party. hope I helped! Oh and it will only evolve durring the day.

people make it sound sooo complicated,

all u have to do is train during the day,

putting a sooth bel on it helps,

then put it in slot 1 in your team,

when battle starts switch out for stronger pokemon,

i evolved my riolu at lvl 11,

using proteins on your riolu helps alot,

i used 6 proteins on my riolu and after wards my rilou had i think 1 or 2 harts on it in the poke ap friendship meter(i think thats what its called)

then just lvl it up (during the day)

and it will evolve

You Riolu is quite friendly. Level him up during the day and maybe he'll evolve. Here are several ways to increase your Pokemon's friendship:

Gaining a level (+2)

Walking 256 steps (+1)

Stat modifiers (+2)

Using Soothe Bell (+1 for each other positive event)

Massage in Veilstone City by girl in house nearest to Veilstone Gym (+3)

Massage at Ribbon Syndicate in Resort Area (+6)

Using Potions and healing items

Faint (-1)

Energypowder (-5)

Heal Powder (-5)

Energy Root (-10)

Revival Herb (-15)

Trading a Pokemon (reset to 70)

Migrating it from a GBA Game (reset to 70)

Happiness evolutions occur when the Pokemon's reaches 220. Maximum happiness is 255.

i wouldn't have thought so, if it's only quite friendly'. give it a soothe bell and walk around with it some more just to be on the safe side. after all you want it to evolve at the earliest stage. or you could save before levelling it up and switch off if it doesnt evolve

My daughter says that there is this thing you can download on the pokemon watch (poketch) that shows you how happy your pokemon is.  If it is ready to evolve they it will show as really happy.  :)
