Shaymin was an event Pokémon, meaning that you had to go to ToysRus, or somewhere to get it. In Japan, Shaymin has been already released because there was a movie on it. Similar to Darkrai in the U.S. There are only two possible ways to obtain Shaymin.

1) Trade someone from Japan

2) Wait until the spring of next year when Pokémon Platinum will be released. This is an extension to Pokémon DP and will have Shaymin as well as its Sky Forme. There is an easier way to get Shaymin, but this involves hacking. Get an action replay and go to supercheats.com to get a code to get Shaymin. However, having a hacked Shaymin does not mean that it will be real or legit. Nor will you get it to be Sky Forme when Platinum comes out.

Yes, however, you need a nintendo event to obtain shaymin. If you want, you can wait for pokemon platinum to release in order to obtain Shaymin and Shaymin Sky form.

can't get it unless they hold a nintendo even like the 11th movie where they have outfree shaymins. (in japan though)

Shaymin can only be caught via a Pokemon event. When you do get that, you'll get an item called Oak's Letter. When you defeat the Pokemon League and get Oak's Letter, return to Victory Road and the passage that was previously blocked. Go through that passage and you'll realiza (if you've been here before) the route's been extended. Keep on going until you reach Shaymin in a field (the place is called Flowers Paradise). Shaymin's level 30 so go easy on it.

You need to first get an action replay and find the code for the rare pokemon on the internet like seach on google and then in the game go to the area where you saw that big glass tablet and read it again so that a path will open then you will see shamin for 2 seconds and it will run away but get on your bike and keep going up (dont worry it is a long path) then save and battle it (oh yeah you dont need a master ball)
