In pokemon firered, how do I make an espeon/umbreon?

I have a level 26 eevee that has maxed out happiness, i have leveled up, and leveled up, WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

It won't evlolve that way in firered/leafgreen because which pokemon it evolves into is timebased.  These games have no internal clock so timebased events don't happen.  They can only keep track of how long you have played not what time it is.  This is also why you can't grow berries in these games.  To evolve your evee by happiness you will have to trade it to ruby sapphire or emerald.  These have a clock that has time of day.

Evolve during day to get espeon, night for umbreon.
