the game is holdem. blinds are $2/5.

player 1 bets $20.

player 2 goes all-in for $23.

player 3's first action. can player 3 re-raise even though player 2 did not raise to at least $30 (1.5 times the original bet)??

  1. it depends on the table rules . but most limited games have a 2 raise limit .

  2. from this point you have do a split pot... obviously player 2 can't raise any more than 23 dollars....

what everybody has to do is match the bet of 23, put that in a side pot, from that point if player 3 etc wants to raise more they have to create a new pot... anything raised over the 23 player 2 cannot win... they can only win the 23 (therefore 46) dollars player 1 and 3 have put in...

  3. yes

  4. Yes, player 3 can raise.  Player 2 action is not a raise but player 3 has a chance to raise player 1's bet.

In California, there are four bets, (three raises) per round unless head up.  In Nevada, there are five bets, (four raises).

  5. In no limit player 3 can bet/re-raise what ever he wants. If player 3 decides to raise I belive he has to raise at least the size of the original bet.

I could be wrong.  You should consult Robert's Rules of Poker for a ruling.  Just google it.

  6. sure.......if he wants to try and push the remaining player w/ money out...............
