  1. When you Bet, you are simply saying how much it will cost other players to see the next card(s).

    Once you bet, it is the next player's turn to act. That player can now Call your bet by placing in the same amount of chips that you did.

    Or, they can raise it. When they raise your bet, they must first put in the amount you bet. If they want to raise, it has to be a minimum of double your bet.

    Example: You bet 10. Next player raises. They now have to put your bet of 10 in the pot, and then raise a minimum of 10 more, depending on the type of game. Limit, No Limit,etc.

  2. Scott C wrote it simply, completely, and correctly.  There's your best answer.

  3. a bet is when there is no bets yet like if the person starting the betting round wants to bet he can bet but he can also check (pass to the nxt player without paying money until somebody bets) or he can bet which means he put money on the table that ppl have to call ( which is putting up the amount of money as the bet was) so basically betting is starting the round of betting and calling is when u decide u still wanna play but somebody made a bet so u hafta put up the same amount of money. srry if it isnt that clear if u want more info my messenger is the same as this sn

  4. Betting is the more stronger action. You are taking control and exuding a image of a good hand. Calling is more passive and could have you losing all your money if you call all the time.

  5. a bet means your doing the first betting or raising

    a call is when your just passive and matching the bet or raise

  6. I dont think you use the term "Bet", you can only "Open" "Raise"

    Call is if someone raises you can call the amount he raised.

    for example(s):

    I Open $600, you call $600.

    I Raise $450, you call $450.

    I go all in $5600, you call $5600.

  7. A bet means that you were the first person to put money into the pot for that betting round.  A call means that someone else put in the first bet and that you matched them.

    In Texas Hold'em, noone "bets" during the first round of action, since the blinds made the initial bet.  You can either call the blinds, raise or fold.

    However, after the flop, turn or river, the first player is not required to bet.  They choose to check or bet.  This continues until someone chooses to bet.  Then everyone else can call, raise or fold.
