  1. NO. You do NOT spot the 8-ball is someone pockets the 8-ball in the middle of a game. If the 8-Ball is pocketed in the middle of a game (whether or not he/she scratches), it IS a *loss of game.

    According to WPA and APA 8-Ball rules, if the 8-ball is pocket in the middle of the game, it is a loss of game. (If the 8-ball is pocketed on the break, the 8-ball is spotted on the foot spot, and the player loses his/her turn)

    *The shooter loses if he:

    (a) fouls when pocketing the eight ball;

    *(b) pockets the eight ball before his group is cleared;

    (c) pockets the eight ball in an uncalled pocket; or

    (d) drives the eight ball off the table.

    Loss of game:

    b. -- A player pockets the 8-ball out of turn or knocks it on the floor.

    Be sure to review ALL the rules of 8-Ball.

    Good luck, pool player,

  2. No.  If the person pockets the 8 ball in the middle of the game they lose.

  3. no they lose

  4. no you do not spot it. That is an automatic loss of game

  5. Pool hall/bar rules.... game over. traditional rules ie: kids rules, spot the 8 ball on the foot spot, or the 'rack spot'.

  6. Game over.  You pocket the 8-Ball before all your other balls are off the table you lose.

  7. It depends on what rules you are playing by.

    With most people, scratching the 8 (putting it in before you've put all your balls in, or even if you have sunk all of yours - if it falls into a pocket that you didn't call (or combos off another ball without you calling it) then it's an automatic loss.

    If you are just playing friendly pool, then its up to the people playing to decide what rules to play by.

  8. If someone sinks the 8 ball before his balls are off the table then there is no spot and that player loses the game.  Even if he scratches.  If he makes the 8 ball in the correct pocket then scratches, that player loses the game.  RF
