  1. In 9-ball the player must pocekt balls in numerical order.  The player may play a combo shot using the correct numbered ball hitting it into the 9-ball.  If the player sinks the 9-ball they win the game, if they do not scratch.

8-ball the player must sink either solids or stripes, whichever ball is theirs, down to 8-ball.  The pocket must be called on the 8-ball, if sunk in the correct pocket without scratching the player wins.

    9

    10

  3. In 9-Ball yes you have to pocket all the balls in numerical order. In 8-Ball in the beggining one person shoots for either Stripes or Solids whatever ball goes in first, that person has to be whatever the ball was if it was Stripes or Solids, but if you hit the 8 ball in you automatically lose unless your playing spots.

  4. i don't...lol...just got & who ever wins..lol

  5. When playing a rotation style game , 7 ball , 8 ball , 9 ball 10 ball etc. etc......You must contact the lowest numbered ball on the table during your shot. Failure to do this gives ball in hand to your opponent. You do not necessarily have to pocket the balls in numerical order but you must hit the lowest ball first. If your playing 8 ball then the numbers don't mean anything except for the 8 ball of course.

  6. Typically, when someone says "pool" they are referring to 8-ball - the game in which all 15 balls are in-play and the two players or teams have "Stripes" or "Solids" as their set of balls.  In this game, there is no rule which says that the balls have to go into pockets in any order - you are free to sink any ball which is within your set.

The most common game in which balls must be sunk in numerical order is 9-ball, a variant of pool in which only 9 balls are used (1 through 9), and the players attempt to shoot them in, in order, starting with the 1 ball.  In this game, if you shoot a ball into the pocket out-of-order it is considered a "foul" and control of the table shifts to your opponent.  The exception to this is when shooting the 9-ball in as a combination, which is always legal and results in an instant "win" for the player who accomplishes the feat.
