  3. Caddies replace the divots for golfers on the tour after they hit a shot.  The golfer usually repairs the ball mark on the green.  Between rounds the groundcrew will go out and fill divots with sand and repair any damage to the green the next day before mowing the green.

    It is important that they be repaired right away during play, not after the round is over.  A ball mark on a green that is repaired immediately grows back in a day or two, one that is left for 24 hours takes weeks to come back.  Replace your own divots and fix your ball marks as you play, don't expect someone else to do it after you have finished.
