When an advertiser books an advertisement in a magazine the magazine production team needs to receive the advertising 'copy', usually a PDF document of the advert, which they can pass to the printer. To keep a magazine on schedule the copy must arrive with the magazine production team by a strict deadline which means it must be 'chased' if it is getting late.

    A flatplan is a 2-dimensional view of every page of the title layed out 'flat'. Imagine tearing the pages out of a magazine and laying them on the floor: That is a faltplan.
