  1. This is probably what you are talking about. It is near Ensenada which is a city just across the border with California in Baja Norte.

Hey Kweenie, Is this worth a Best Answer?

  2. It's in Sonora, I think. I asked my mom cuz she's from there and she says she's never heard of that.

Lol, I dunno.. I checked and it is in Sonora. My mom used to live by Puerto Penasco so if she hasn't heard about it, it may be a lie, or she could be wrong.. lol, but that does sound interesting...

  3. I go there every winter but I'm not sure what you are trying to describe. Maybe it is this, all along the Sonoran Desert Coastline there are ravines that fill with water and flood, washing mud and clay onto the beaches. Sand slowly mixes with the mud and clay making it the same color as the sand.

If you walk or drive across the mud and clay on the beach, you will sink into it, much like quick sand.

The only other thing I can think of is the sand on the beaches moves around with the tides. The tide goes out leaving a sand bar, the next high tide washes it away.  But this happens everywhere in the world.
