  1. in my opinion no, becuase he can kind of be a burden, plus he IS retarded and all..... so no I don't think so

  2. He may be jealous of how carefree Lennie is and how he doesn't care about what others think about him. But George doesn't want to be Lennie or anything like that

  3.    I wouldn't say he's jealous, but he might resent having the burden of taking care of a grown man like Lennie.  Lennie is "simple" and can't see evil in others.  He has a child-like innocence and has simple needs.  His greatest goal in life is to share a farm with George just so he can tend rabbits.  George, on the other hand, has to face responsibilities, worry about where their next meal will come from, worry that others won't understand Lennie's limitations, worry that Lennie might accidentally hurt someone or some animal, worry that Lennie will face the authorities for the "crime" he committed.  Jealous?  Let's go for resentful.

  4. i read that book in  my senior year of high school

and george isn't jealous of lennie he's kinda like annoyed

with lennie more than ever cause hes retarded = lennie

  5. In a sense, yes. The practical answer would be no, though. See, Lennie is (obviously) retarded, so he really has no worries. George takes care of him, and Lennie just works when George tells him to, and then George takes care of the rest. Lennie doesn't have to worry about paying for housing or getting the two of them jobs or how they're going to pay for the farm that George wants to get. Lennie just does what George tells him to, and he gets taken care of. So it is very logical for George to secretly envy Lennie a little bit. Not because he is carefree, but because Lennie doesn't have to worry about those things. He probably wished that he didn't have to worry about those things sometimes.
