After seeing the movie, The Dark Knight, me and my friend had a simple argument about what the title of the movie is about. For those of you who haven't seen the film yet, i suggest you stop reading HERE. Now, I know at the end of the film Commissioner Gordon gives a speech where he calls Harvey "the white knight" and eventually goes on to say that Batman is the dark knight. Could it also be said that Harvey 2 face was the dark in the sense that he was the city's hero; their knight, but he was corrupted? I think that calling Batman the Dark Knight is just because of the everything associated with batman, ie darkness bats etc. Im looking for bragging rights here :D, plus i bet him a muffin. and everyone knows those are kick ***

  1. No batman is the dark knight. He helps people, and at the same time makes him self look like a criminal.

  2. Batman is the Dark Knight, by sacrificing his noble image and taking upon the weight of Harvey Twoface's crimes, which in turn cause him to be a creature of the shadows and dark.

Harvey did start out the movie as the "White Knight" because of his "pure" by-the-book way of doing things. But after his scarring and the death of Rachel, he lost half of his "purity", and in essence, became a kind of "Grey Knight", a man who is so intent on justice, that he will do anything to insure it happens,(after he finishes his own vendettas, of course).

  3. Batman is the Dark Knight its a classic nickname for him for decades.  The Batman, the Dark Knight, the Caped Crusader, the Detective and so on and so on.

  4. well remember when harvey said "either you die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villian" well ironically that happened to him. I think The Dark Knight is appropriate for Batman because he is a vigilante but still does good for the city.  So in a way he has a dark side and the same time is good.  Harvey was the hero at the beginning and later turned into the villain but he cant really be called the dark knight because a knight is noble, and he was pure evil at the end.

  5. Batman because when Harvey Dent becomes 2 Face he is no longer a knight he is a murderous criminal. Therefore it has to be Batman.

  6. i reckon it's a pun. i thought you were going to refer to the joker for a moment! but i reckon it's more situated towards batman, after all that happened.

  7. yeah but harvey dent used to be the white knight and now he turned to the half white/half dark knight?? Im confused.. but overall Batman IS The Dark Knight. Harvey Dent used words, Batman used fists....
