  1. I agree with you!

  2. Cleanliness and marriages as "social" issues are very harmless. But "social issues" area is much more wider that that. It also includes equal education, individual rights, equal opportunities, quality healthcare.

Let me put it this way.

Dwelling on social issues, suddenly you start to wonder why a handful of local lords (emirs, sheiks) sit on all of the natural sources of your country and p**p in golden bowls, while you are working your a** off to make a living.

You wonder if they pay the required annual zekat off their wealth, because, you know, you try hard to pay it with your limited income, because you believe in the goodness of your religion.

Then, in an unguarded moment, you voice your concern, you get arrested, you get accused of insulting Islam and you get executed.

The time of monarchies feeding off people's backs is past in the West. But they are still there in Middle East. That's why they want you to be interested in little shows of observance and forget about the social issues. It is dangerous for the haves, to let the have-nots begin thinking social.

  3. i second what heba said.  Just wanna add that ritually practicing 'Aamal-e-fazail' is all what we r taught growing up.  Much of the blame goes on our spiritual leaders and on people who appointed them as leaders to mislead the public.

  4. cleanliness, dowry, simple marriages,  all that is a form of ibadah when u get married u do it for the pleasure of Allah when u pay the dowry u pay because Allah said so when u make wu'doo u do it to clean ur self for salat u really need to read more about Aqeedah (creed)

everything a Muslim does is a form of ibadah we have a du'ah foe everything we do from waking up  going to be even have s*x.

  5. Hmm... I'm not sure of the answer myself. I think the fault lies with the standard of living now. Life is so challenging and demanding nowadays, compelling us to ignore & disregard simplicity and therefore, we tend to overlook important details. Modernisation has made us neglience over such matters. Everyone wants to be in line with the latest updates, thus making them materialistic. Therefore, simple marriages, dowries and other old customs and traditions are no longer practised.

p/s: When comes to cleaning, I'm very detailed and particular though, living up to the 1st priority of a Muslim...hehe

  6. thats very true......

ibadah is one of the easiest things to do (in my opinion).....so thats why people choose to talk about it over n over again.......all the easy subjects of islam are discussed in this section effectively.....and a large amount of users in here are too busy feeling good about themselves and their knowledge by asking and answering issues that dont really need attentions at this point.............but the ones that really do need attention (cleanliness, dowry, simple marriages, etc) are not being looked at as often.....n its sad....because we really do need to omit these kind of things from islamic societies....and it requires INPUT from us muslims....it requires lots n lots of mental and physical strength...it requires sacrifices...it requires time.....and who is really willing to put all of that in to it?.....not many as i seem to notice....

  7. Maybe in this section, but in Islam, we have every friday in the mosques a religious sermon and a political social sermon.... So you are quite wrong, muslims are much more politically aware.

  8. Thats why I like your struggle!

I am just honest, we don't really have any power to change it all alone till we have some good ones with us,

like many Fazooliyat's for Marriage cermonies, even funnerals, parties of other kinds........many things that we have now forgotten to think if that Really is the Muslim way!
