In reality what are the necessary steps and legalities to setting up a small business in Ireland.?

My friend and i want to set up a business in Dublin, we have a few ideas about what we could do, does anyone have any advice or have they gone through this experience themselves

  1. Yeah, quite simple but takes a while.

    You need Memoranum & Articles of Association first, you get these from a place in Dublin, look in the yellow pages under legal stationary, it's called Kings and ???. Cost €10

    Fill them out and bring them to a solicitor who needs to sign them in 3 places. Cost €30

    Get a A1 form the Companies Registration Office and fill out

    Bring all this to the CRO and pay them €100.

    Wait 2 weeks, you'll get a cert of incorporation in the post.

    Now it's gets annoying.

    Go back to the CRO and ask for copies of the mem & articles. You need them to open a bank account. The CRO won't have them ready so tell them it's urgent.

    Then set up bank account.

    Then download a TR2 form from revenue.ie, fill this out for tax, (you need the bank account for this).

    It will take them 2 weeks to give you a VAT number.

    Also check out entreprise Ireland for a grant.
