In recent years,what have france done to protect the environment?

Im trying to do research for a project, and i cant seem to find anything out!!

facts and figures would appreciated greatly!

They have kept the Kyoto agreement!  They use mainly nuclear power - which does have some environmental issues.  But this has lowered their carbon emissions considerably.  The green party is one of their many political partys.  They create green buildings with mandatory renewable energy requirments.
