In red box, Gemstone Meg set to stamp rivals in Coral.co.uk Maiden Stayers at Hove
Wearing red jersey, Gemstone Meg is all set to play a big role in Coral.co.uk Maiden Stayers, a 695 metres open race, scheduled to be held at Hove on Thursday, January 31, 2012.
Since arriving in this class, the black b***h has not done anything special. Nevertheless, no one can afford to ignore her chances. She reached here after doing a lot of good work at Swindon.
On January 11th, K. Hutton’s trainee won an A2 meeting narrowly. After leaving the second box, she showed good pace, but unfortunately got crowded at the fourth bend.
It was very difficult for her to recover after a huge mess. But the dashing b***h did not lose her rhythm, and made a strong finish. With the help of an excellent effort in the dying moments, she managed to score by a short head’s distance.
It was a confidence boosting victory for the talented b***h. She stepped up in grade, and took part in an open race here on January 17th. After getting crowded at the second bend, she badly baulked at the following one. Another huge mess embraced
her at the fifth bend.
After so many messy events, it was impossible for her to do any damage. As a result, she ended up fifth on the table. An improvement was seen last time though. Despite a lot of trouble, she showed good effort, and seized the third place.
A lot more improvement is expected in this race. She is enjoying a great draw, and will be in a good position to stamp the rivals. Among the opponents are: Harveys Silver, Ballymac Pen, Bridge Rumble, Clairekeith Esme, and Tinas Aurora. It will be started
at 21:24 GMT.
Clairekeith Esme has plenty to prove on the stamina front. Ballymac Pen attempts to get off the mark, but the chances are not bright. Bridge Rumble may not be seen with a winning chance in this meeting.
Tinas Aurora is one of the more exposed greyhounds in the race. Harveys Silver is smart enough to step in if the opening comes along. Good luck to all the hounds.
