In red jacket, Gentle Flight all set to thrive in Coral.co.uk Standard at Hove
Gentle Flight’s confidence is at a high after an impressive win last time. The black dog baulked at the second bend, but still ran brilliantly to take a narrow win over Aughacasla Suzi. The draw is a massive plus for him. Wearing red jacket, S. Cahill’s
charge looks in a great position to spark in Coral.co.uk Standard, being hosted by Hove on Thursday, December 27th.
The May-09 hound lost rhythm after winning an open race at the end of last month. He was trounced twice by Malbay Phanter earlier in December. The son of Satellite Flight, out of Gentle Sherry, finally got it right last week, when taking the top prize by
a short head’s distance.
Having returned to the winning ways, the dashing hound has more to offer. A very strong opposition is waiting for him, but a favourable draw will surely help him produce a cracking performance. Since there is no runner in the second trap, Gentle Flight will
be having plenty of space to make his early moves.
Other runners in the pack are: Larrikin, Swords Brett, Kelseys Prince, and Millwards Blag. The 515 metres contest will be kicked off at 20:34 GMT. The ultimate champion will leave the field with a prize worth £175.
Swords Brett is eyeing the top prize, but might find one or two very strong. The black dog showed great progress after winning an A2 meeting at Swindon in mid December. In his latest open race, K. Hutton’s trainee beat Sharp Bullet by three and a quarter
lengths.
Anchored by black vest, Millwards Blag must step lively here. The dark brindle dog was not impressive on his last venture, as he finished fifth on the table. Trained by P. Young, the 3-year-old is not facing an easy task here.
Larrikin is one of the best dogs in the race. But he will succeed only in case of a clear route. The black dog is coming off an excellent win, and should be respected. Kelseys Prince, standing in the sixth box, is enjoying a good draw, and this seems to
be the only plus.
