In reference to 2012?

I used to watch a series in TLC (The Learning Channel in US) called Ancient Prophecy. I thought it was interesting that they mention 2012 as the mark of Armageddon according to Mayan Calendars? I honestly don’t know what to make of it? Basically, we only have 4 more years (2008) till the world ends? What is your opinion on this?

  1. And the world was also supposed to end in the 90's after the world war, and in 2001, there are millions of prophecies, according to Nostradamus, the world would end before the year 2000

And I guess I'm still there, so I don't believe on it at all

Before the world ends for you just enjoy life

  2. Hmmm... even some occurrences like Nostradamus and or the bible have predicted such calamities. I would say, keep an eye out and maybe research more into it. Armageddon after all isn't the end of the world, it could be that there will be a huge war, World War 4 or a continuation of WW3 (war on terrorism) Maybe those mentioned battling from Israel, Russia, China, U.S.A., Iraq Etc.. For me, I don't really care. If the world ends well theres nothing we can do about unless your God. Let's just live life now and don't worry about tomorrow.

  3. Civilization comes and goes over time (tens of thousands of years) , the new replaces the old. Cataclysmic events are nothing new to this planet, if the Mayans successfully predicted the next planetary event then what could most of us do anyway? No one can even predict their own death, so speculation is not necessary. You can only try to be prepared and learn survival skills if there is a one in 6 billion chance that you could survive.

  4. The world ALWAYS seems to be coming to an end!!

Do you remember the panic over Y2K?

It wasn't just from a technological standpoint.  Many people believed that the world was going to come to an end!

Just live everyday to the fullest and you will have no regrets.  That way it doesn't matter when the world ends.

  5. Maybe try studying spelling

  6. The world will not end December 21, 2012.

Even if the seven-year tribulation period was to begin tomorrow (01/05/08), seven years would bring us to the year 2015 .  From the end of the tribulation period, the world will continue on through the seven last plagues and the Millennium (a thousand years), to finally be destroyed after the battle of Gog and Magog.

  7. The world is not 'literally' ending....Earth is just spinning quicker: the poles are shifting and the planet's consciousness is to work in a higher frequency.....Basically, a new consciousness is coming so no need to fret; just don't hold too much 'fear & hatred' in your heart and you'll be fine.

  8. Armageddon is unknown in date. No one knows at all. So do not worry try to gain as much as possible of good deeds before that day.

  9. The only answer to reading the Mayan Calendar, is to see it as they did, in a reality of cycles. They thought in non linear time.

Even their actual calendar was a circle. Don't you think that is a little hint as how to read it?

If we choose to see a drastic end instead of a new beginning, we are no better than the people who thought Columbus would fall off the edge of the Earth.

  10. I agree that this is not the end of the world, just the end "as we know it."  I like to believe that this will be a new beginning, a new consciousness.  The beginning of the benevolent "age of aquarius."  At least Bush will be out of office...  That's a start!  ;o)

  11. My opinion is, if the Mayans knew so much about the end of the world then why didn't they anticipate the Spaniards?

The *calendar* ends, not the world.

  12. in reference to 2012 it isnt so much the end of the world as we know it but an acension to a higher force/dimension that the mayans had predicted, the awakening has been occuring and preparations have been made in accordance to the time in 2012 - the mayan calendar ends on that year so it is assumed that man will move on from earth after that year, the calendar is a countdown

  13. Actually, the real story is that the Mayans had very good predictions [most of which are accurate and are proving to be accurate. the Mayans have predicted alot about eclipses, and were experts in astrology.] Anyway, they predicted that a black hole would line up with the sun and the earth in 2012, sucking in everything, and ultimately, ending the "world" or earth that we live on. It will not be Armageddon. As if I believe in this, maybe? I don't take it too seriously, but hey, if everything else the Mayans have predicted about the universe, why not this?

  14. thousands have "predicted the end of the world." it is as we know it...it will end, but i wouldn't count on having four years left...it could be sooner it could be 25 years away. the research i have done indicates we are at the final stage. their is no set time between these stages, some are ten years, some are 100 years apart. so-get yourself squared away with your creator because i'm  fairly certain we will not die before...

  15. The mayans were around 500 yrs ago. they were smart but not that smart. And plus they didnt believe in Jesus Christ. They believed in sun gods and things like that. and creted the number 0. 2012 is just a thery.

  16. I think they believe that since that is as far as the Mayan Calendars went, it you want to talk prophecies Nostradamus has them up to the year 7074.....So who really knows.

  17. I am 59 now. This is perhaps the 20th end of the world that I have been through.

I will tell you exactly what to expect. The morning after the end of the world, the sun will come up the birds will start chirping people will get out of their beds an get ready for work. Moms will hug their Kids and everything will pretty much be like it was the day before the end of the world.

Only one thing will be different. All of the people who were talking about it as though it was real will be saying that they knew that it was not really going to happen.

The day after that there will be a new date for the end of the world predicted, and those same people will be talking about how it is real.

  18. Think of this.  The Earth didn't just pop up in one year.  In the same manner,  I don't think that it's going to just disappear.  Considering it's mass, if the Earth were to really end in 2012 it would have already started.  Even the impact of a huge astroid would do nothing more than begin the destruction.  It's time will come but I don't think it's going to be in this lifetime.

  19. The Mayan Calendar ends in the year 2012, which is based on ancient, sophisticated astronomical and mathematical calculations that explain a major transition not only for the Earth, but for every other planet in this solar system as well, detailing a change in our positional relationship to the Sun, (which explains the natural aspect of the Global Warming issue, the other being Carbon emissions) which we are moving closer to, and will continue to do through 2012 and beyond into the next cycle as it officially begins on December 21, 2012.

This Light from the Sun is also affecting the consciousness of humanity, and has opened up vistas of opportunity for spiritual and material evolution that has not been experienced for 13,000 years.

This is what Christians call the "end times", which from a higher perspective reveals the souls opportunity to balance all karma that has been created over the lifetimes and return to the Christ Consciousness that is the true identity of the individual soul. It can also be understood as Buddha Consciousness, Krishna Consciousness, or becoming your own Messiah, as taught in Cabala.

The practical process that must be undergone to come to this realization can be likened to a personal Armageddon, where it feels like the world is coming to an end, because in a sense, it is. The old world of material illusions begin to fall away into the fire of transmutation, which is painful, though this opens the door to the Light of the

Divine identity, which is who and what we really are, and which is where we find our true freedom.

The concept of the Armageddon has been misinterpreted by Religious Fundamentalists who don't understand that the Armageddon is an inner experience

that the individual goes through.  This is significant in that it brings us back to accepting our true identities, which is that we are Divine Beings, with the Power to create our own realities, both individually and globally. Jesus quoted Scripture when he told the Israelites that, "I said, Ye are Gods." The Church does not want people to know this, for the reason being, that, with this information, people don't need the Church for salvation. Salvation becomes an inner issue, not an organized religious one.

This is a tough pill to swallow, for it brings the responsibility of salvation back to us, and not Jesus, or any other savior.

Unfortunately, many souls do not want to accept this reality and will not be prepared for the Shift that will culminate in 2012, though it is already happening NOW. It is a transition that nobody can predict, because we all have the Power to change are worlds for the better, and return to the Light of understanding, and avoid the doomsday scenarios many people have predicted.

Obviously, the weather is a major concern, and if people had not woken up in the last several years and started moving towards the Light, many of the predicted cataclysms would have already occurred. This hasn't happened and it is because we have the power to control our environment, both individually with how we think, feel, speak, and act which in turn affects our weather patterns. This may sound like nonsense to some, but there is now scientific evidence to prove this.

We have the Power to CREATE the Realities of the future with the decisions that we make in the present. NOBODY CAN TAKE THIS POWER AWAY FROM US! We are eternally in possession of it, based on the Laws of Quantum Physics.

The bigger idea and much more important one is that the world is just starting to BEGIN. We are now moving into the Golden Age long held onto as our ultimate destiny. Though we must CHOOSE the Light over the Dark, both individually, and globally. CHOOSE LIGHT. With Love.

  20. Count on it.  Don't expect the world to explode overnight, expect a cataclysmic event to trigger a Biblical apocalyptic war.  Look for Muslim terrorists to hijack a nuke from the states and fire it on Jerusalem to trigger the apocalyptic events and breakout the great Islamic crusade.  This is the first trump of Revelation (rev 8:7).  Someone then retaliates and nukes the US shipping lanes (2nd - 4th trump rev 8:8-13).  The US will be kicked out of NATO effectively dividing the great super power from the world and every nation will turn on them (Daniel 7:4). Expect large natural disasters and plagues in various places throughout the world as well (Matt 24:7).  Then two Islamic prophets, known as the Mahdi and the Islamic version of Jesus show up out of nowhere after the nukes drop as prophecized and establish a 7 year peace treaty.  These two are the beast (otherwise known as the anti-christ) and the false prophet of Revelation 13, the false Christs and false Prophets that Jesus constantly in Matthew (Matt 24) and the "anointed one" in Daniel 9:26.  However half way through the peace treaty the treaty is broken and Muslim armies advance throughout the Eastern world (rev 9:14, 1st Thess 5:3).  Just before the treaty is broken, the real Jesus shows up and then Elijah returns from the sky to anoint him (Matthew 24, 1st Thessalonian's 5, Malachi 4).  They are the two witnesses of Revelation 11.  They prophecy for 1260 days paralleling the 1260 day prophecy of the beast and the false prophet.  After the 1260 days the beast kills the two witnesses (Revelation 5, Revelation 1:5, Hebrews 9:24-28, Revelation 11:7) and they are resurrected after 3.5 days (Revelation 11:11-12).  This is paralleled Islamic prophecy as it is believed the Mahdi will kill the Dejjal (Muslim version of the anti-christ a.k,a. the real Jesus).    Expect things to get worse than the holocaust (7 thunders, rev 10;4).  Basically a lot of really bad **** happens but at the end, once Islam has conquered the all, God pours out his wrath on their armies (rev 16) and once they have been reduced to the last few, the Messiah returns from the sky after being killed by the beast to defeat him and his army at the battle of Armageddon (Matt 24:29-31, Rev 19:11-28, Rev 1:7), and then establishes a new kingdom of heaven on earth which is why all this is happening anyway (rev 21-23).  Oh ya, and somewhere in there the states get completely leveled by nukes (rev 17-18).

This is not hocus pocus, "I believe God can do anything" bullshit, this is all technically possible to forcast and follow through and is existentially necessary.  The world must end so a new heaven can be created before the new age of nanotechnology brings us into the age of molecular manufacturing (predicted for 2020 by leading scientists n researchers).  This is not a symbolic end of the world that you find in yourself.  The people who believe this either have no faith that God will come through, are just terrible at interpreting the Bible or are listening to someone who's clearly full of **** and can't think for themselves.  You believe in a heaven coming to earth but according to you it's going to happen spontaneously?  And if you don't even believe that and you believe in God then where is the world going?  If you believe in God and you don't believe in the end of the world you then you have conceded that God doesn't exist and you are wasting you time because without the physical destruction of the world to seal up prophecy  and bring in everlasting righteousness (Dan 9:24), the God you claim is real pulls a no show disproving his existence.  All evil must be overcome and everything must be destroyed before the new heaven descends.  This is all Biblical and those constellations that line up with Egypt are all biblically symbolic of end of times prophecy.  The constellation of Draco (symbolic of the anti-Christ) lines up with the temples of Angkor, The Sphinx lines up with its 4 constellations (Ophiuchus, Leo, Aquarius, Torus) and the pyramids line up with their constellation of orion (Orion's belt) which are each symbolic of the coming Messiah and his role in his second coming to earth and his triumphant return from the clouds and the sun lines up with the center of the Milky way, known to the Mayans as the gateway to the underworld and as a haven for evil.  Who do you think built the pyramids, the Egyptians?  We don't have the technology to recreate those things today.  This was all setup by a higher force and was meant to point to this time as the end of the world as we know it.  The alignments clearly spell out the underlaying apocalyptic theme; Christ vs. Anti-Christ.  This is an essential function of cosmic evolution from alpha point to omega point.  The new heaven created is simply a transfer of all the high technology that currently resides in heaven to earth.  Thats what heaven is, perfect technology.  I could go on and on but I don't exactly have space or time.

But to those people who don't believe the world is going to end because a bunch of lunatics forecasted the end several times and it failed to transpire I have one question.  Ever read the boy who cried wolf?  The third time the wolf came.  And this time its not a bunch of homeless people or losers basing their beliefs on nothing, these are smart people realizing that if God did create us, then all these stellar alignments are pointing to something big.  The Bible says at least 8 times that these things happen at the "end of the age".  Guess when that is?  On Dec 21, 2012 the age changes from Pisces to Aquarius, symbolizing the age that will bring the waters of eternal life.  Be smart people, the odds of these alignments happening naturally are basically zero.  This wouldn't happen in an Godless universe.  Don't doubt it because you don't like the idea of God because religion is crazy.  Religion is crazy, but the truth about God is that the atheists have a better understanding of God then the Christians do, even if they don't believe in him.  2012 is real, it's all written in Daniel and the book of Revelation and are the only unfulfilled prophecies left in the Bible.  If 2012 is real, God is behind it so expect this to happen.  Don't plan too far ahead in life, I promise you your RSVP will never come back to you.  Peace

    P.S. to David S

I am confused by what you said.  You seem to have a good head on your shoulders but how can you say Armegeddon is an inner experience and quote Jesus Christ who clearly said there would be mass destruction.  According to you Jesus's entire first coming was an inner experience, not to mention along the entire Bible and all of its stories and prophecies an inner experience. We are headed for a Golden age and that age is the new heaven.  It's gonna be sick.  Hope to see ya there.  Can't wait for the world to end.  For an idea of what heaven could be like consult the implications of nanotechnology in Ray Kurzwiel's The Singularity is Near".  So bored of Earth, can't wait for the new heaven.

  21. Believe none of what you hear and half of what you see! Take it one day at a time and stay positive! You only live once...........or do we?

  22. I thought the world ended last month.

  23. Balderdash! The same thing was said about Y2K and guess what we are still here.
