In regards to Russia?

Question

Do you think this is just the beginning of Russia asserting it's dominance again? What with the invasion of Georgia, and the possible taking of the two provinces of South Ossetia and Abkhazia? Do you think it's possible that Russia will try to get back parts of it's old republic? What will happen if this continues? Peace!

Yes, yes, and yes, if this continues, I am sure there is a big chance of World War 3 as everybody knows so, USA is a proud ally of Georgia, and I do not think they will stand-by watching Georgia get destroyed. So, if it comes down to that, they may wage a war against Russia. Meaning the 2 most powerful countries in the world, will be fighting, USA vs Russia, a battle foreseen by many.

I don't think Russia is trying to reassert itself as a word power because everyone already knows that they are. As for the invasion, they were just defending Ossetia from Georgia who overnight decided to attack Ossetia. If anything Russia and Ossetia are allie just like the US. and Israel are. Georgia attacked and Russia stood up for it's ally by pouring thousands of troops into Georgia.

I just hope Bush and whomever wins in November does not confront Russia militarily.  There is no reason to.  We are in no position to.  It would be a major mistake for us to do so

To tell the truth, or more of the truth rather than shooting sh*t, you need events before a war could befall countries. Do they really know what they are/were fighting for? No, it's all politics. Russia fell in 1991-2 at the close of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics and has been rising since then as the Russian Federation, but some say it's still the old U.S.S.R. underneath it all. Well, there are characteristics of the old republic.

Now, they're arguing. 4Georgian ambassador says of hostile, aggressive behavior and looting and murder. Russian ambassador complains of disinformation and such.

Yes, I do think 'Russia', in whatever form it likes to call itself, is asserting their dominance into the world as one of the big superpowers today. As of now we have Russia, China, the E.U., and the U.S.. But rumor is that since the U.S. has a $9.4 Trillion debt, the U.S. will fall in 2010 and join with Canada and Mexico to form the North American Union.

If this happens, not only will they play tricks like speeches that when you reserve parts, you can hear subliminal messages. Since they started something back in 2001, it's all confusing and mix messages are sent to us over and over that we're supposed to speculate through time and time as something to be either amoral or something that just had to be done. If this continues, through Bush's Batman questioning whether the war was the right thing to have done, the moral or amoral choice, we will 'all' be 'forced', by the people, 'for' the 'people'. This means that everything is diluted and nothing is spared. Few who can comprehend beyond the massive happenings can. ....

It appears that Russia will try to get away with as much as possible. (a return to physical imperialism) The USA is the only country that might possibly stop or slow them down. Lets see if Obama(if elected) can talk them out of this aggression as that European appeaser did with Hitler.
