  1. BaaHAHA....no, if you smoke and think it isnt affecting you, you sir are dead wrong

  2. Of course they are not going to admit any wrong doing ! It is ridulous that it is not legal yet..

  3. marijuana was never technically made illegal...for years it was bought and sold by the government...when it became "demonized" in the 20s and 30s because of its association with jazz music and blacks harry j. anslinger decided that you needed a stamp to buy or sell it, this stamp was similar to the stamp you see on a regular pack of smokes...the stamps quickly became impossible to find...as time went on it was lumped in with other narcotics and controlled substances...so in conclusion...marijuana, not technically illegal...selling and buying still very illegal...

  4. no. hemp was made illegal starting late in the great depression because it was poised to re-emerge on the textile market thereby causing a fundamental economic shift that would have devastated the southern cotton industry as well as impacted other related companies. this was all done under the guise of it being a dangerous drug and having racist motivations. none of the propaganda that Harry Anslinger used in 1937 to justify this has withstood the test of time or the test of valid research. The problem is that after 71 years of prohibition, the generation that did this is gone and the feds just keep rolling along status quo. they have no reason to change it although, hemp is the only plant I'm aware of that produces enough cellulose, has a wide enough growing range and short enough season to allow America to grow enough ethanol to feed our entire gasoline hunger.

We can change it, spread the truth, dispel the lies and work to get it on the ballot. It's sad to see so many people respond with incorrect facts provided by the government, a nation as well educated as this one shouldn't be so ignorant about this incredibly valuable plant.

ADDED: I must respond to Nini, check your facts, the Marihuana Stamp act of 1937 was a $1.00/ounce tax (100% tax actually), it was this that started everything. it mimicked a similar tax levied on machine gun sales. both were designed to regulate the sale not generate revenue. BTW: it was a tax bill that was pushed through the ways and means committee and although congress voted and approved it (commonly congress accepts the ways and means committee bills wholesale), it was really only reviewed by a hand full of people and never debated. the people never agreed to this.

  5. not at all, its a mindaltering drug, it should not be illegal.  The only reason alcohjol is legal is because prohibition just did not work at all

  6. No it is an issue of wanting an American people who have fully developed brains.

  7. Possibly.  If they research the laws, they'll find that the original justifications for banning marijuana were based on racism and religious zealotry.  The powers that be don't want to admit that, so they won't admit the laws are bad.

  8. They don't care about right or wrong, only the profit from the import, export and war classifications of the abuse. follow the money and you will see who controls the drug markets. They struck fear into the public with HJ Anslinger , He worked , he got all the states to sign and profit from the war on drugs.

Few Universities now are doing research on effects like U of Iowa Block Research.

  9. if it became legal then 1000's of people would be out of a job. i say, lets fire them all.

  10. there is no way that "our" government could make anywhere near the amount of money if they taxed marijuana as they do from criminalizing it.  think of all the millions of dollars in fines, court costs, etc. that they bring in every year, not to mention the fact that they get millions more from our tax dollars to fund the "war on drugs".  i'm not saying that smoking pot is a healthy choice, but how many times have you seen or heard of somebody smoking weed, going crazy, and killing somebody,  or robbing a bank,  or driving into a house at 3 a.m. and killing a sleeping teenager?  anyone who has ever smoked it knows that it is pretty much harmless unless used with another substance.  i am much more alert after smoking marijuana then after a couple drinks.  and "our" government will never admit to being wrong.  example- 9/11.  enough said.

  11. Your wrong. People who took marijuana continuously since the 70's are now turning up with mental health issues. Hydroponicaly  grown marijuana is a potient drug bong use can accelerate the on set of mental health issues in just 3- 6 months where it took decades

  12. Maybe this is off the subject but for the buisness peop's who make a good income off of marijuana, thanks to the black market's creation by the government's laws, I doubt many of the dealers and growers wanna see it legalized.

  13. It is an issue with the goverment, because they can't find a way to tax it. They also get alot of money for ticketing and conviction of "offenders"... There are alot of stupid laws. Heck there is even a law in Alabama that does not permit you to have a popsickle or icecream in your back pocket on a Sunday! Gotta love the goverment, but without them this country would be worse.

  14. EXACTLY

When the government was telling kids back in the late 60's early 70's that is was very addicting and would cause all sorts of crime, kids knew better, they also discounted everything the government said about LSD-heroin--cocaine--speed--meth--figuri... the government lies about it and shouldn't be trusted.

Instead, the government could have, decriminalized pot and took the revenues from its sales to use to fight against the spread of the real drugs in America, that actually harm people.

Its just more of the Republican party trying to be the fun police and not caring about the hardship this stupid prohibition brings to MILLIONS of people on a daily basis! Think about it, the right-wingers say pot heads are lazy and won't work, millions of people in this country use pot and work everyday, some at very high paying jobs. But can you go out and get a job if you are a pot user? NO---they say !! They'd rather send you to jail ( this punishment is 10 times worse than ANY consequence of using pot) leaving your family homeless--your children without one or both of their parents---all of which costs the American public over $50,000 a year to house these folks that are far less criminal than people who start wars based on lies getting thousands killed !!

  15. Wrong about what ?
