In right hand drive cars, are the blinkers on the right or left? Is the gear lever reversed?

  1. The gear lever is in the middle and arranged thusly:

    Forward left = 1st gear

    Reverse gear is either forward far-left (for historical reasons) or rear right (for manufacturing reasons).

    The hand brake is hand operated and is situated to the rear of the gearlever.

    The pedals (from left to right) are:

    Clutch

    Brake

    Throttle/Accelerator

    The indicators are usually on the left of the steering wheel, but occasionally on the right (just to s***w you when you hire a car).


  2. Hi there!

    I've been on vacation in England and rented a car there, and all their cars are right hand drive. The gear lever is layed out the same and in the same place. The only difference will be you'll have to get used to using a different hand for shifting since you're on the other side of the car. Also, the turn signal is on the left side of the steering wheel, just like it would be in a left hand drive car.
