  1. The paddock is the garage area....but most road courses don't tend to have actual garages like ovals do (remember, ovals are $$$$) :)  The paddock area at a road course tends to just be a big, open area where teams set up their rigs which can be as fancy or as plain as the budget allows.  Some of the 'temporary' structures can be amazing, such as at Sebring or Le Mans.  Having an open paddock area also gives a circuit a lot more flexibility to host a wide variety of events and to pack in a lot more participants for things like motorcycles, SCCA club racing, etc....keep in mind a good SCCA weekend can have 400 cars or more!!!!

With pro series like Grand-Am, American Le Mans, Indy Car, etc., the teams usually park their rigs together, one rig per car, and have canopies under which they work which are usually roughly the size of the trailer itself.  For amateur racing like NASA or SCCA, it tends to be more modest, but it has to be to cram everyone in.

If you haven't had the pleasure of attending road races, I highly recommend the experience.

  2. The garage area.

  3. ooh.. yeah it's the garage area where they keep all the trailers and semi's and things..

also where Danica Patrick did an interview with ESPN [if you see it, I'm the one screaming "I love you" =D] and I got to talk to her and get her autograph after the race. =D

  4. the garage area its the best place for autographs and pictures with the drivers and owners

when i was at watkins glen i had a paddock pass and got every drivers autograph including michael andretti and jimmy vasser

i even got multiples of drivers i got dixon and danica 5+ times lol
