  1. A free kick is exactly that, a free kick. It is the same as taking a kick in open play, same rules apply, cannont go out on the full, opposition lineout if into touch.

A penalty kick comes with an added option of a place kick at goal, and can be kicked to touch without bouncing, and if there is a line out the throw goes to the team whose penalty it was.

Free kicks and penalty kicks must all be kicked through the mark, and the ball must leave the players hands, you can't tap it off your foot and keep a hold of the ball like the minis do.

  2. a penalty kick (or p.k.) is in the box. you know, one on one with the keeper. but a free kick is anywhere else on the field. i think that's right. sorry if it's not, it's been several years since i reffed.

  3. Free kick if you kick outside the following lineout is for the other team, after a penalty is for you, in the penalty you can ask for a goal kick (3 pts.) with a free kick you can´t. The free kick is after smaller faults like parcial ball in the scrum, or feetup, and some lineout faults too.

Just go there and have fun, make mistakes but always firm and keeping authority, don't let them talk to you. Luck!!

  4. With a free kick, or short arm penalty, the team awarded the free kick cannot have a shot at goal. That is the only difference.

  6. Ok im a full time refree the only diffrence is thAY FROM a frerekick you can not kick directly to touch and you dont get the throw in aT THE LINE OUT

  7. free kicks you can only kick down Field but on a penalty kick you can kick for goal as well

  8. for a freekick you cannot take a shot at goal and a penalty you can kick for goal

  9. IN Union, a penalty is a general term awarded to a team if the other team infringes. The kicker can decide to kick for position and for a line out or if in range take a shot at goal. The kick for touch will keep posession for the team who got the penalty. A free kick is where a shot cannot be taken on goal and if ball is kicked to touch, they team who were awarded the free lose posession. A free can also be tapped resulting in the team playing from where the free was awarded
