  1. They need a balance of good running, kicking and distribution skills. Rugby has so many variables that your fly half needs to be able to adjust to these e.g. A blustery day needs a good runner and passer heading into the wind, and a good tactical kicker with the wind at their backs. They also need to adjust to differing defensive tactics; rush defense may require a a cheeky chip in behind or a wide pass into space, or sliding defensive may require him to run a bit more, asking questions of the defense, with runners supporting on multiple angles. Just look at the world class fly halves, this is what they are all capable of

  2. Definatly a better runner

  3. b.

  4. Running. A more important skill, however, is passing.

  5. the out-half has to be a good kicker. Because of where he is in relation to the scrum, he is the one that has to take the long kicks upfield. If he isn't a good runner, then you wont have as many attacking options but if he can't releave the pressure with a defensive kick, then you will be up against it all game.
