  1. 60% mental 40% physical, you have to stay motivated

  2. for me it's probaly 50/50 because I am very fit and I just have to keep telling myself five more steps

  3. 75% mental

    25% physical

  4. most runners say that it's 98% mental and 2% physical because it's all about endurance for the race.

  5. it depends on what exactly your talking about.

    training is mostly mental.

    about 80 percent...?

    thats because anyone can train

you just have to decide to do it

and push yourself toward a goal

but racing is a different story

the first part of the race is physical

you have to be able to let your mind go

    and just run

    so it changes from training

in that its about 90 percent physical

    at least that my view

toward the end of the race

you let your mind take over

your body tells you its had enough

and you need to have the mental strength

to push trough to the end

this is what makes running a sport

you have to push trough mentally

    to achieve physical results

which can only get you so far in the race

and then mental power takes over

so... you definitely need physical ability

but you need mental strength to take that ability

and use it for all its worth

    at least...

thats how i see it =D
