In saying phelps is the Greatest ever Olympian aren't people forgetting about Heracles?

Did his twelve Labours equal Twelve Gold Medals?

AND didn't i read that Asterix and Obelix won all the events between them one year?

Admittedly Heracles being a Demi God had a leg up and Asterix and Obelix used a magic potion that would be frowned on these days but still they kicked butt!!!

I think Atlas was the greatest of all time.  I mean, come on, the guy actually held up the world. Who else has done that?

That Michael Phelps is the greatest swimmer the Olympics has seen is without doubt. That he is te greatest Olympian, well not quite. Right up there definitely. What about Jesse Owens, Carl Lewis, Nadia Comaneci?

When people say Phelps is the greatest Olympian ever they are only referring to people who actually existed in real life not Olympians from mythology.  Besides Heracles didn't compete against the entire world

Admittedly this "Heracles" is good... but you should know that to today all people care about are the past couple centuries not millenniums.... so Heracles is great and all but Phelps is a killer athlete you have to admit... there can't be no question to that!

Yes you're right, but Phelps isn't through yet by any means. And maybe he's working on some of his labors now....

One of Heracles' challenges was put to him by King Thespius of Thespiae who wished him to kill the Lion of Cithaeron. As a reward, the king offered him the chance to impregnate each of his 50 daughters. Accordingly, Heracles did this in one night (sometimes referred to as his 13th Labour).
