  1. home.

  2. HOME

  3. It really does depend on one's own situation. I am not very familiar with how the home school system works, but I'm going to assume your parents teach you. What can they offer you rather than someone that is more experienced like a teacher, who has the incentive of their paycheck to do a good job lol. Home schooling can be a lonely deal. Granted, I would enjoy that because currently I am not the most social type. Interactions with teachers, superiors, peers, etc is a fact of life and you have set ground rules within yourself on how to deal with situations with those people in later years such as college. Sometimes home schooled kids lose their interest  for study. In school, there are basic rules and guidlines on how to go about your work and studying. In class you are more involved with the subject and you can discuss in among your fellow students--such as labs, groups, projects, etc. Responsibility is another thing you learn by going to class. Being on time, turning in your work on time and done thoroughly, repect, obeying rules, making friends are all things you are expected to do in life...and in my opinion, public school is more reliable than your home.

  4. at home

  5. Online and at the library.

  6. I was homeschooled, and it did afford me alot of time for other activities. It let me be outside more, kept me healthier than the public school kids. But I did miss out on the social element.

Write out a list of pros and cons, really be thorough.  Overall though, I'd choose homeschool over public any day!

  7. I agree with april. The teacher gets the paycheck no matter what. Also they usually only have your kid for a year. Parents work for the end result. There are many activities for homeschooled children. Parents get together for labs, sports, recreation, field trips, ect... There are people who teach math, science, chemistry... I was homeschooled. I did chemistry labs, science labs, sports, and many other activities through a co-op or support group that many homeschooling families in our county were a part of. Nearly every city has a homeschool group.

  8. With all these very strong votes for homeschool, I feel like I have to put my two cents in.

I have not been homeschooled (so I guess I'm biased), but I've had a great time at school. Sure, it's been hard sometimes, but learning to deal with different people and unyielding schedules is part of education.

However, it's really your choice. I know kids who are homeschooled, and they're not antisocial at all, and they love it, and it's the best thing for them. You have to decide what's best for you. Try to consider everything--schedules, social aspects, academics, support, etc. Good luck!

  9. Who knows your kid better than you? It makes no sense to send your kid away all day and entrust them to strangers. The fact that HS kids far surpass PS in academics is undeniable and recent studies  are proving that they do better socially too! They have less self esteem issues, mature quicker, have less behavioral problems, less likely to succumb to peer pressure, and connect with others on a deeper level.

You can't shelter your children from the world, but you should be the filter.

**** Bluebell just a thought a parent who wants to see their child succeed in life is way more incentive that a teacher getting a pay check****

  10. It is ur choice but i am homeschooled and lov it soo super much my vote is homeschool if u have any questions about homeschooling email me @    emmag33@yahoo.com
